I worked as a web and digital designer at Practiceplus a little over 5 years, this was my entry into the professional, design environment.

Services at PP included designing, building and branding efficient websites and setting up a digital marketing strategy for the client. During my time at PP I must have worked on close to a hundred projects, starting as a junior designer loading content, to leaving as a senior designer managing projects, designing and building sites for our clients.

Here’s just a portion of projects I was involved in over the years

A typical design process at PP

Depending on the project, the time allocated and the budget, this process would vary. Here’s a brief run down of the PP design process, keep in mind there’s a lot of other technical and involved steps in between. (SEO, Marketing strategy applied, user testing, cross-browser testing, mobile responsive, project management, client onboarding, go-live process, etc.)

  • Meeting with the client and stake holders to define goals, direction, any branding and design requirements.

With many check ins and chats in-between.

  • As a team we discus the project, define tasks and generate ideas on how best to leverage the clients branding within the site. Conduct levels of research, empathise with the client and users.

    Empathise, define, ideate, prototype ⟶

  • I like to start with the humble pencil and paper, quickly sketch out potential layouts — Then open Figma to wireframe the site.

  • After the prototype is accepted by the team and client, we proceed to the build.
