I was very excited to see that Athlon, a company that I admire for its creativity and innovation, has an opening for a UX/UI designer. With over seven years of professional experience designing layouts and polished mock-ups for web, I have a well rounded knowledge of UX/UI process. I wireframe and design interfaces with Adobe XD and have experience with Figma — I’m also very well versed with the Adobe Creative suite.

I’m a big advocate for thorough design process, from user and industry research all the way through to the refinement of the concept. While working for a small web design and digital marketing company, I was lucky to upskill and fill other roles that our small team couldn’t cover — as the web designer I naturally absorbed the lead UX/UI role and found a deep appreciation for UX research and application in designing interfaces. I actually spend a bit of time daily researching and collecting layouts and UX methodology guides, keeping up to date with modern UX and UI standards — I guess I’m a bit of a UX/UI nerd, I do this in my spare time for fun! Following current trend setting designers and their work.

I’m always keen to learn from collogues and add new skills to my tool belt, I work well within a fast paced environment and collaborate well on projects with team members. I’m a big fan of internal feedback, always keen to bounce ideas off people. I’m always friendly and usually a bit cheeky in team chats, which I think is a very underrated quality, keeping morale and team spirits up.

I’m comfortable and confident with clients, I express ideas well and enjoy building rapport.
